We ate at Sushi Rock when we were in town a few weeks back. The sushi was pretty fresh and they had some cool items on the menu (like conch, which I never see in Westchester). However, the rolls looked like the were put together by Stevie Wonder and were a falling apart mess. Portions were huge but it's not like we got a deal or something; the prices were really high. Three stars. Would probably check for other sushi places before going back again.

Unhappy and unpleasant experience. Left feeling conflicted.. Sushi was too fishy and not the freshest. Pad Thai was quite oily. Only thing half decent was the miso soup and shrimp tempura..

Great food but waitress was very angry that we were having fun and kept ordering more food. So sorry we were annoying you. This place is within waking distance from me me and I've been eating here for 10 years. Always been fantastic but apparently we recently overstayed our welcome.

Great sushi with a friendly staff. I always sit at the bar top and enjoy the owner's company. Always fun and energetic ! Jalepeno tuna salad is the BEST! The spring rolls are really good too ! Not greasy and very light. Sushi rols and special rolls are very good and always have great presentation. Seriously, you have to try the spicy tuna salad !

I just tried this place for the first time the other day. I like the wasabi roll which is a custom roll as well as the edemame and eel sushi. The food is very fresh and the staff is friendly. Although I have had better sushi, this place is pretty good and close by. I'm sure to stop by again in a week or two.

The sushi was good, and you get TONS of food. Seriously. So much. I had no idea the rolls would have been so big. The miso soup came out right away, and was hot and yummy. My only problem with it was the service. I was the only person in the restaurant (it was 4p on a thursday) and yet it took FOREVER for me to get my food. I was a little surprised- it wasn't as though they had anything else to be doing. *****UPDATE****** The service is STILL ridiculously slow. I ordered take-out that was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. I had to ask for it, and ask for it, and ask for it, and finally, after a full hour, it was ready. If I had wanted to spend an hour waiting for a meal, I would have eaten in. I have made numerous, numerous attempts to enjoy this place, but the speed of service just ruins the whole thing. So- if you want good sushi, you should go. But not when you're hungry, otherwise you'll die of starvation before your food arrives.

Went with a friend for lunch. It's kind of hard to get into that shopping plaza but we managed. Once inside we sat at a booth and ordered 2 diet cokes. Cokes were served with a glass and a straw. Glass had lipstick all over it, got a new glass. Think they charged us $2 for a can of Diet Coke. Ordered a $10 roll for lunch, 1/2 shrimp tempura & 1/2 spicy tuna. It was OK. I loved the idea behind it. Also, ordered a side salad to start for $2. It was a sad excuse of a salad and had 2 different kinds of carrots in it? Some finely shredded on top and the other sliced like you would find in a thai dish? Wish they had a roll soup or salad and a drink lunch special. Cost us each about $20 with tip. I'm not running to go back, but it was OK

Good lunch specials, friendly staff, and really good food. We got here about 12:30 and were surprised the place wasn't packed since it was right in the middle of the typical lunch rush. Could it be its location in a strip mall? It's a pretty unassuming strip mall right off of Yamato, but still...that's typical S. Florida for ya. The only thing that surprised me was how long it took to get our food and how COLD it was in the restaurant. Our salads arrived quickly, but after that, it felt like we waited too long for our meals. I realize it's all made fresh by the sushi chef, but it just seemed to take too long. Our seats at the back of the restaurant were so cold it was almost unbearable (to the point that I wouldn't sit in that spot again). Regardless, the sushi was good and the service was very friendly. I'll be back.

I came here on a rainy day last week with some coworkers for dinner. We had a seat in the back of restaurant, where it was a little chilly. I ordered edamame and asked them to make a sweet potato tempura roll. The staff was incredibly nice. The food was good. I like my sweet potato tempura roll hot or warm. This one came cold. I could have asked to warm it up or something, I guess. Overall, it was good. My friend ordered some $12 dish that came with a ridiculous amount of rolls. I would recommend this dish for the seafood eaters because it was huge for that price. Since I don't know the name, I don't know how much help this review is.

How did I know I was going to have a great experience at Sushi Rock? All of their menu covers are record covers which goes with the name Sushi Rock. I absolutely loved that idea and the chance that I got a menu with the album cover of one of my favorites of all time made it even better (u2 War) That's a sign right? I like to think so. It's very unassuming in a tiny strip mall off Yamato and 2nd Ave so if I hadn't been working in the area I would have never known about this SR. I noticed was there wasn't a single soul in the place. Hmmmmm, it was still early so I didn't want to judge them too early on. That being said, service was super quick and friendly. They have alot of selection for lunch time including Thai and Japanese specials. My dad got his food first and I'll admit it, I was having a case of food envy with his chicken and steak teriyaki. They didn't do skimp on pieces of meat and it was loaded with tons of veggies! I got the #4 Special with sushi, sashimi and shrimp tempura and again--they don't skimp on their portions. I got all of that plus with the shrimp tempura they give you an odd but lovely mixture of fried delights such as a huge onion ring and fries carrots and squash. It was funky but it worked. The sashimi was some of the best cuts of fresh fish I have ever had including tuna and salmon. I would go back again just for that!. Holy cannoli--so. much. food, for only $10 you get a lot of sushi with substance. Sushi Rock didn't have the chic, hip atmosphere like other sushi places in Boca but more of a quaint, neighborhood feel to it. I don't need to feel sexy when I eat sushi, I need to feel like I'm getting a good deal. I definitely got a good deal at Sushi Rock and can't wait to visit again!

Great sushi! Great service! Friendly staff! Mellow ambiance. Never disappointed when I go there. Love sitting at the sushi bar and watch the chef work his magic on presentations! Love this place...

This is such a little gem. It had been a while since my husband and I went to Sushi Rock but as soon as we walked in the owners greeted us happily and with a big welcome. We ordered the sushi boat for two (comes with soup) plus I had unagi (eel). The fish was fresh & delicious. I enjoyed the salmon roll that accompanied it as well. The only disappointing part was the tuna in a martini glass that I think was seared but came out dry. Would have preferred it raw. But, this is a great local spot in Boca with plenty of parking too in Teeca Plaza.

Just went for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised how good it was. Didn't think much at first since its in a sort of random spot, but definitely worth going to. We had a couple of rolls, soup, and a Thai dish. All were very tasty and fresh. We'll definitely be going back.

I was in Boca on business and needed a sushi fix and found this place on yelp. I was greeted and seated right away. I ordered #1 off the lunch menu which consisted of 6 pieces of sushi, a California roll and choice of soup or salad for 10 bucks. I ordered the miso soup which arrived quickly and hot. I really enjoyed it. My sushi arrived in a boat. Other than the California roll which was cut into 12 pieces (so it's big), there was 2 pieces of salmon, 1 tuna, 1 crab, 1 yellow tail, and one shrimp sushi. Everything tasted good and fresh except for the imitation crab. I don't usually care for it no matter where it comes from though. The service was great, the sushi was good, and the price for lunch was excellent. I wasn't blown away, but I'd return.

If i could give this place 10 stars I would. It was the best sushi i have ever had in my life. The presentation was fantastic and the server was friendly and helpful with all our questions. This place is a must visit.

Sushi Rock is a favorite for the area around where I work. There Are other nice options like Blue Fin, but to save a few bucks for a diner ambiance and zero pretension this is the place. Pretty good soup, sushi rolls, and service.

Just googled sushi places near my office and found this little gem. I ordered a hand roll not on the menu " salmon avocado with eel sauce" and it was great. The salmon was very fresh and soft. I've had lots of sushi and the quality of the fish was quite good. For the main course I ordered pad Thai chick. Deliciousness. The presentation was very cool. Instead of scrambling an egg inside the food it was placed on-top kind of like an omelet. I came for dinner to try this place out and they now have a customer for life.

This place is alright. Not the best sushi in town, but earns its three stars. The fish is fresh, and there's a nice selection. However, it loses a star for slow service. Worth a try if you're looking for relatively cheap and decent sushi.

Asked for the chef to prepare a specialty, he basically gave us a tuna tartare with chili oil. It wasn't bad, a little spicy but fresh tuna. We then asked for the chef to prepare a specialty roll, chefs choice. What we received was basically the tuna tartare in a shitty roll, poorly rolled and too big. I did have an avocado salad with seaweed and strawberries that was very good.

I stopped by here when on business. It was near the hotel, heard they had fresh fish. I never noticed. I ordered two specials. The yellow tailed was overly soaked in sauce and sesame seeds and the roll had no flavor. The service was slow which was odd since the restaurant was empty. I also noticed the Chinese cat statue which is to bring good luck to a restaurant yet bad luck to a sushi restaurant, "the cat eats the fish." I wish them luck.

Sushi is mostly fresh with an occasional piece that while not funky makes you think, hmmm, was that from a few days ago or just a bad cut job? Lots of food for the money (for a sushi place).

Was at Sushi Rock last night and found chicken flavorless and the fish dish was over cooked. Very skimpy on sauces and flavorless. The spring rolls were okay.

We had a choice between 2 sushi restaurants near the Embassy Suites and I'm pretty sure we made the right choice. Lobster roll & orange dragon roll were terrific.

Sadness. Tonight was my third at Sushi Rock and I'm sad to say I won't be going back. This is associated with Sushi Rock Ft. Lauderdale and the owner and his wife are awesome. It is really tight inside and is more of a "grab-a-bite" kinda ambiance then anything else. The sushi was really quite excellent the first couple times but not today. Warm, kinda gritty, sloppy... need I say more? Once you go meh, you just can't go back. Shame.

I do not know if this restaurant is related to the Sushi Rock in Fort Lauderdale, but the food is every bit as good. The service is quick and food is excellent. The rolls I had were massive as were the individual pieces of sushi...some of the best and biggest I have ever had anywhere. As one other reviewer stated, the ambiance is not the greatest. You do feel like you are eating at a strip mall (which is where you actually are). However, there does appear to be a local crowd that hangs out at the sushi bar and the people were very friendly. If you are looking for sushi in Boca Raton I would strongly recommending Sushi Rock as a very good alternative to the better known sushi places in town.

This restersaunt is great! I stopped in for lunch and got mine to go. Everything was very fresh and the staff was very nice. I would recommended it to anyone looking for a sit down sushi dinner or a lunch to go.

Great place for a quick Bento box style lunch. No ambiance. I prefer Sushi Thai down the street.

Came here because I mistook it for the Sushi Rock Cafe in Ft. Lauderdale. Spectacularly good Thai-fusion sushi. The guy behind the counter has a really deft touch with melding his Thai palate with Japanese (and other Asian) ingredients. Absolutely loved everything we had, from the Sweet Potatoes (done "Katsu style" i.e. like tonkatsu) to the Spicy Tuna Salad. Their conch and squid are fan-freaking-tastic. No idea how their traditional stuff is, and we skipped all the cream cheese rolls. Highly recommended.

I would recommend this place for lunch with friends or coworkers. It is a little cramped with no great atmosphere in a strip mall off Yamato. The sushi is very good and the service is also good. Great prices too.
